NC NYI

NC NYI Leaders and Students,

It is with deep sadness and concern that our regional event, TNT @ TNU 2020 is officially canceled. Based on much deliberation by the NYI Southeast Field Council, and all the precautions advised by our government during this time, we unanimously decided that the safety and protection of our students, their leaders, and families, was something not to be taken lightly. Please view the message by our Southeast Field NYI President, Mike O'Hair in the video above.

First, to all our students who worked tirelessly and were brave enough to put themselves out there this year, try a new talent, practice their skills, and prepare to represent our state, know that we see you and feel your disappointment. Know that there are many of us who are very proud of your efforts and your willingness to demonstrate your talents, and we praise God for your gifts and how He is using them in your life. To our seniors, know that we are saddened that we won't be able to recognize your efforts over these last few years and lay hands over you as a region, but all of us are praying over you and your futures.

In light of this cancellation, our district will work to reimburse churches and students over the next several weeks. The process begins with regional reimbursements to districts, and from there, our district treasurer, Fred Brucker, will send reimbursements to those who sent payments directly to NYI, whether it was a church or an individual. If you paid through your church, your church will receive the reimbursement first. Note that this may not be a speedy process and we appreciate your patience as we work to ensure those funds go back to you for future NYI events or your own personal needs during this time.

Finally, I want to thank Pastor Justin Staten and his work as he stepped into the role of TNT Coordinator for our district this year. We do not take lightly all the work and preparation that was put into this event prior to its happening, and we as a district are grateful for his leadership. To all of our leaders who were willing to join the TNT team this year, and were available to volunteer and fill in positions as needed, we appreciate you immensely. We hope that you will continue to be part of our team as we plan for TNT 2021.

We ask for your continuous prayers during this time, for safety over our students and their families, for wisdom as leadership all around the world continues to make difficult decisions, but also that God's power may be demonstrated in great ways through us, with us, and in us.

Blessings,

Angela Rivas
